Thriving Students.
Supported Staff.
Engaged Community.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

My name is Tracy Bunye and I'm running to be your next Haldane Central School District Trustee. I'm running because I believe schools are the cornerstone of community. As the parent of a current 4th and 6th grader I am deeply invested in the success of Haldane for all. I'm running because I am committed to building a Haldane that is supportive and inclusive for all students and staff. As a clinical psychologist I've seen how schools can improve and change the lives of so many students. I've also seen how some students slip through the cracks.

I'm running because school boards matter - our students and staff deserve transparent, thoughtful and balanced decision making. I know we can elevate all children to accomplish their best. By bringing together teachers, parents, staff, and the community, we can continue building a school system that works for everyone.

I would be honored to have your support.

Sincerely,

My Story

Like so many families, my connection to Haldane is both personal and deeply meaningful. As the parent of a fourth and sixth grader at Haldane, I see firsthand how important it is for students, staff, and families to feel supported, challenged, and part of a strong, caring community.

Professionally, I bring over two decades of experience in mental healthcare, education, and leadership. I was a tenured associate professor of clinical psychology at the doctoral level, where I trained future psychologists and contributed to research and clinical education. Today, I co-lead a large group practice, IMPACT Psychological Services, where we serve more than 300 children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families each week. Our work includes psychotherapy and assessment of learning differences, various forms of neurodiversity (including autism and ADHD), giftedness, the impact of trauma on learning, and providing pro bono assessments for asylum seekers. It is incredibly rewarding work and it is a privilege to serve so many members of our community in this way.

Every day I collaborate with a diverse team of clinicians and professionals, manage complex systems, and help guide decisions that impact both people and organizations. My work requires thoughtful problem-solving, careful attention to ethics and safety, and the ability to bring together multiple perspectives to move forward in a constructive way.

I am deeply committed to creating environments where all individuals feel seen, respected, and supported. My work has long centered on neurodiversity-affirming practices, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and supporting immigrant communities. I believe Haldane should reflect these same values - a place where every student can learn, grow, and belong.

Whether navigating complex decisions, managing large budgets, advocating for the marginalized, or working through challenging issues with care and integrity, I bring a collaborative, steady, and thoughtful approach. I understand that strong schools are built through partnership - with educators, families, and other stakeholders - and I am committed to listening, learning, and working together to support all members of the Haldane community.

I hope you will join me in this important work.

In partnership with you,
